Shaesta Waiz is emigrated to the U.S. from Afghanistan when she was just a little girl. Her parents and five sisters lived in an area with poor schooling. Little did Waiz know, she would soon become the first person in her family to graduate college and the first female to become a certified civilian pilot from Afghanistan. Her passion for aviation led her to create a truly amazing organization to show girls all over the world that they can accomplish great things too.
Dreams Soar brings awareness to the lack of females in STEM industries. Did you know that only 4 percent of airline pilots worldwide are female? That’s insane! Lucky for us girls, Waiz is using her platform to educate young girls about STEM jobs, like aviation. Dreams Soar isn’t only dedicated to aviation jobs, but also any job in STEM fields. These jobs include engineering, medicine, robotics and so much more.
I love exploring Dreams Soar website and learning all the cool facts about STEM jobs because, lets be honest, who doesn’t want to become a super cool pilot like Waiz or a crazy brave doctor in a hospital?
