Lights On Afterschool

lightsonWhat are you up to after school?

The Afterschool Alliance has launched this really cool project called Lights On Afterschool. The goal of the Alliance is to make sure kids all over the country have access to “affordable quality afterschool programs.”

I don’t know about you, but considering the fact that both of my parents work, I’ve spent a lot of time at afterschool clubs and sports—and I know that those experiences have been amazing for me and have helped the way that I’ve approached a lot of things in my life. Have you had any experiences like that? And wouldn’t it be awesome if every kid had the opportunity to have them?

I definitely think so.

So, if you have a chance, go over to the Afterschool Alliance website to check out how Lights On Afterschool is celebrating afterschool programs. So far they have attracted more than one million people to more than 7,500 events in the country. Isn’t that amazing? And what’s better, you can get directly involved by hosting an event in your community!

Share your afterschool program experiences with us on Twitter @MackenzieBlue using the hash tags #AfterSchoolAlliance #AfterSchoolPrograms #LightsOnAfterschool, and we’ll share them with our followers and on our site!
